How to Edit Text in an Image Online
Have a finished picture with one phrase that needs to change? This image text editor works with existing lettering in a flat image. It reconstructs a selected text area using your replacement wording, so you can make a small update without recreating the entire design. This is a clear, short heading with room around it. It demonstrates one successful edit, not a success rate for every font or image type. Choose the Workflow That Fits Your Image
Screenshots and interface labels
Change a short heading or example label in a screenshot you own. Keep nearby icons and unrelated wording outside the selected box, and check the download at full size because small characters can look convincing in a reduced preview. Use the screenshot text editor for guidance on dense interfaces and long phone captures.
JPG and JPEG graphics
Update a phrase in an exported flyer or picture when you no longer have the editable design. JPG and JPEG are both supported. PNG and WebP images
Opaque, static PNG and WebP files can be uploaded directly. You do not need to convert them to JPG. Transparent or animated files are not supported in this version. Keep your source file, because a downloaded result is still a flat picture rather than an editable collection of text boxes, shapes, and effects.
Change the Words While Keeping the Original Look
Visual font matching
The model tries to preserve the lettering’s visible style, size, weight, color, and spacing. It works from pixels and does not recover the exact font file. If you want to edit text with the same font appearance, compare letter shapes and alignment as well as color. Strict brand typography is better handled in the original design with its font.
A local change to the selected area
The original image stays in your browser. A crop containing your selection and some surrounding context is sent to the AI provider. The browser then places only the selected rectangle back into the original image. Pixels outside it are retained; the background inside it can change and needs review along with the text.
A full-size PNG download
The final image keeps the source width and height. Exporting as PNG avoids another lossy JPEG save, but cannot restore detail missing from a blurry original. Save the download before closing the tab. There is no account gallery or permanent result link to retrieve your edited picture later.
Get a Better Image Text Edit on the First Attempt
Select one complete line, including its punctuation, descenders, outlines, and shadows. Leave a little plain background inside the box so the lettering is not cut off. Avoid including a second phrase or illustration that the model might interpret as part of the edit. A careful selection is more valuable than submitting repeated attempts.
Keep replacement wording close to the original visual width. Changing a short label into a sentence may squeeze the letters or produce incorrect spacing. Type the original words accurately, and check capitalization and numbers in the result. The app does not automatically verify spelling, even when generation finishes successfully.

Questions About Editing Text in Images
Is this a text overlay tool or a replacement tool?
It replaces words that are already visible in your selected area. Adding a new text box on top of an image can leave the old letters underneath. This workflow asks the model to reconstruct the original text area with your replacement wording instead.
Can I edit text in an image for free?
You can try the editor without an account, subject to daily usage limits and available processing capacity. It is not unlimited. The app shows an error when a limit prevents generation, and each accepted attempt may use part of the allowance.
Why do I need to draw a selection?
The box identifies the specific phrase and limits which part of the full image can change. Entering original and replacement wording is not enough to locate a repeated word. Include the entire phrase and leave unrelated details outside the selection.
What should I do if the result is wrong?
Keep the original and check whether the source is clear, the phrase fits, and the selection includes every letter. Adjust those inputs before another attempt. If the font or background remains wrong, edit the source design or use a manual repair workflow.
Can it edit several lines or every occurrence at once?
No. This version handles one selected text area and one line of replacement wording per attempt. It does not provide batch editing, document-wide replacement, or paragraph layout controls. For multiple changes, an editable source file is often a better fit.
How are my images handled?
The original stays in the browser; a context crop is sent to the AI provider only when you request an edit. Results are temporary and should be downloaded promptly. Read our privacy policy for retention details before choosing an image.
